Ih you blow dry your hair and you want it to be volumized, Spay with volumizing hairspray before you blow dry it and blow dry it bending over to where you are looking at you rfeet. It works amazingly!!
to straighten, Put most of your hair in clip or ponytail but leave hair at neck line. Straighten in small sections. Work your way up your head. for layers, straighten them first then do whats suggested above.

I know how all of you feel. I have extremely curly, thick, and frizzy hair and I hav found a way to make it look naturally straight and stay that way for 3 days.
#1 product you need is a clamp brush. It evenly distributes the hair out
so that the straightener evenly straightens without crushing your hair to frizzles.
#2 you need a heat protectant cream and a frizz cream to protect the hair.
#3 you need a good straightener (not all straighteners that work are expensive)
#4 the technique you use is crucial. i pull half of my hair up into a bun and split the bottom half evenly down the middle in the back. You take small pieces at a time and wrap the rest of the hair around the bun so its not in the way. Apply the products to each piece. Make sure you go as close to the scalp as possible and use the clamp brush to lead the way for the straightener, repeat atleast 3 times on each strand. This is the most effective way to reach the back of your hair. It may take 30min to 1hr to straighten your whole head but its totally worth it!!! your hair will look beautiful and naturally straight.

emmy from boston, the reason your hair is flat and dead after you blow dry it, might be the way you're blow drying it. Before you blow dry, towel dry your hair just a little so it's still kind of moist, but not really. then blow dry it straight down on different sections rather than just everywhere. before you blow dry it spray a little of water mixed with a little hairspray on your hair. As you blow dry it take a brush and brush your hair upwards underneath your hair. That will add volume, and you're hair will be practicly straight. If you still need to straigten it, do the same hairspray water brush thing and that will add volume again.

I find that if you comb a bit of straigtening gel into your hair before you blow dry it, it really helps! Be sure to use hairspray! (but not too much!)

To keep frizz down and to make your hair really soft, I wash my hair in conditioner first then rinse out, then wash with shampoo then rinse, then condition again. Hope this helps!

I have thick, shoulder-length, wavy, hair, I mostly use treseme deep conditoning shampooh and conditioner, and it makes my hair soft and silky, but I HAVE to either blowdry it straght, if I don't straghten it, because due to the imense thickness of it, it is really puffy and well... altogether BIG (if you understand where I'm coming from). I tend not to blowdry & straghten together, because my poor hair cannot handle it! One thing which is great for hair is olive oil - hope this helps. :D

My hair is really poofy, and like i have colored hair, and i heard that straightening colored hair will damage my hair, and i have been using my hair straightener allot, but i don't feel any difference once so ever! but like if i straighten my hair at night, when i wake up, it will be an ugly poof ball again. Please does anyone have any advice for me? Please reply. All my friends have nice straight hair and 'm like the only one that doesn't. It makes me feel so...ugh :(
