ALL the ladies whose hair can't stand HUMIDITY. My hair is super curly, so when I used to straighten it and say go to a club (full of humidity) or around the beach, my hair would start to slowly grow up away from gravity. I started using Indian oil (once a week). I leave it in for an hour or more and than wash it. And since I've been using it and straightening my hair aftward my hair has never tried to fly up again. It doesn't have the best odor, but it's worth it, I love not having to constantly find a mirror to make sure I don't look like a poodle. It's called Alma Dabur.

Note: Don't straighten hair when it's wet. Use small strands. Protect it b/f straightneing it. Change shampoo and conditioner maybe every 3 months (cuz your hair get's used to it and it no longer works). And use some sort of a home product to condition it weekly, such as Greek Yogurt (sounds weird, but it works) (leave it in for an hour or more b/f washing it. Anyways good luck. And remeber you don't want to dry your hair early in your life cuz the older you get the more of it you'll need to enhance your aging beauty.

Get the Bio Ionic iSmooth Conditioning iron... Its $300 which is really expensive but its definitely worth it! It doesnt flatten the hair and the ends dont feel dry and stiff. If youre saving for a decent straightener this one is worth the money.

Ive been thru a few straighteners, the best way to see if its too hot, press a piece of toilet paper inbetween the straightener, once its hot. If the toilet paper turns brown/burnt, u know its too hot. Go with the more expensive straighteners, my last one was 150$, and it was ok, my new one is 250$ and it works ALOT better...if you want a good straightener, pay more money!!!! It helps if it comes with a warranty, because straightners tend to die after a while of using them.

I have thick curly/wavy hair and i have been straightening it for about 3 years now. I no that straightening irons can get really expensive, but its totally worth it to spend atleast 80 dollars. My current straightening iron was 107 dollars and it works great and its way better for your hair then most of those $20 ones. I highly recomending investing that much because it will be way better for you hair and will last much longer than the cheaper ones. I have a babyliss pro and it works really good i love it. it straightens my hair really fast especially since my hair is reallly thick. Its a great flat iron I recomend it. :)

For those of you who have trouble keeping your "wavy" hair un-wavy, just get a product that you spray on your hair(So it doesn't revert back to wavy.) and then apply the heat straightener.
NOTE: This will make your hair "stiff" if not used correctly. Only apply the Product on a part of your hair, then apply the straightener. Then finish it with the other parts.
Or if you're fast enough before it dries, hah.

my hair didnt used to be curly and now it kinda is. but i bought a new straightner nothing really fancy. like a $20 dollar one from walmart. and its wet to dry and i found out that if you straighten while your hair is still wet it looks 10x better! like sometimes when i wake up in the morning i feel like a greaseball and my hair is heavy feeling but if i use the straightner before you go to be or after i shower in the morning it feels light and fresh. plus it lightens my hair and accents my natural highlights and gives it that nive clean glow ALL day. it also really shows all my layers. like i have my hair cut with a short layer on top and then medium layer (kinda choppy) and then the longest layer comes to a point in the back. it isnt cut off straight like usual. the lady who cut my hair called it the rockstar style and this is the first time ive actually been satisfied. oh and to "Dani" who commented above, i have blonde wavyish hair too and i use herbal essences pin straight shampoo and conditioner. its AMAZING!

hahaha i have naturally dead straight brown hair (not mousey brown yuck!)and i still LOVE straightening it! i don't need to much but it makes it glossy and doesn't tangle as easliy. i us Diva its great goes up to 210 in heat (which is all i need)i think that GHD,sliverbullet and diva are the best around they are expenisive but its worth it at the moment im saving 4 a GHD i can't wait!!
xxx Liza Good Luck!!
